Loss of Lip Definition

Lips naturally tend to look thinner as we age as the skin's support structure decreases and it loses its elasticity.  The loss of volume from the pink part of the lips starts typically from the mid thirties onwards.  Lips lose plumpness sooner if you are a regular smoker, as toxins from cigarettes increase collagen breakdown in the skin.

Dermal fillers are a good treatment for redefining lips as they readily replace the lost volume in the, leading to better lip definition and reduction of wrinkles around the mouth, therefore improving the whole look of the face.

The injection of fillers into the lips is a delicate procedure, in a very sensitive area and to help make sure this is as pain free as possible we encourage patients to have a local anaesthetic injection, in the same way as a dentist would when working on teeth.
