Park Clinic delights healthcare inspection body

The clinic has been preparing for this inspection by the Healthcare Commission, the independent inspection body for both the NHS and independent healthcare, since it launched in February 2007.

Armed with this accreditation, Park Clinic will be able to expand its current range of treatments and therapies to include laser work and its patients can be sure that they are being cared for by an organisation which conforms to the highest healthcare standards.

Dr. Neil Rotherham, Park Clinic's managing director, says of the clinic's achievement:

"We are delighted to have achieved our registration so soon after opening Park Clinic, and we are flattered that our assessor commented that the clinic was one of the most professionally run that she had visited - claiming that it was a pleasure to assess such a clearly well managed institution."

Park Clinic spent three months preparing for its one-day inspection. During this time it had to ensure that it adhered to 14 key quality standards. This included demonstrating a sound HR and employee training and development programme, standardised systems and processes for patient treatment and adherence to health and safety requirements.

The clinic also had to present a robust business plan, which showed there would be a substantial business for years to come, demonstrating its commitment to ongoing services and patient care.

"We embrace tough legislation in the industry. In fact, we think that over the coming years there will be much more - and rightly so," continued Dr. Rotherham.

"Although some of our treatments and procedures may appear to be straightforward, we feel it's essential that they are carried out by trained professionals in a professional medical environment. For example, if a clinic is administering treatment of Botox or dermal filler to a patient, it is essential that that person has a sound understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the facial muscles. This principle applies to facial muscles, skin and any other treatment area."
